Valerie is a nationally recognized healthcare regulatory compliance, revenue integrity, and physician reimbursement expert. She is the Managing Principal of PYA’s Revenue Integrity services team. With more than 20 years of experience in healthcare consulting, she helps practices, hospitals, health systems, and attorneys with hospital-employed physician compliance and audit program development; physician and laboratory compliance program advisory support; statistically valid, sample-based refunds; physician and non-physician practitioner compliance and education; Medicare and Medicaid regulatory compliance and reimbursement methodologies; and practice establishments and operational consultations, including coding compliance diligence for private equity transactions.
Valerie is a national speaker on coding and compliance-related topics. She is a member of the Health Care Compliance Association and American Academy of Professional Coders and is a Certified Team Member of Maxwell Leadership. Valerie earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro.
