Tom spent more than four decades building business connections for the University of Tennessee System and Oak Ridge National Laboratory with public and private organizations throughout the region, state, and nation before joining PYA in 2012. As Chief Alliance Officer, Tom works closely with the entrepreneurial and innovation community across Tennessee, including serving as Editor and Publisher of teknovation.biz.
Tom’s support of innovation and entrepreneurialism is long-standing. He serves on the board of directors and executive committee of the East Tennessee Economic Council, the board of directors of Launch Tennessee, and the board of directors, executive committee, and as chair of the Economic and Entrepreneurial Development Committee of Life Science Tennessee. He is a member of the University of Tennessee President’s Council and chairs the board of the Pellissippi State Community College Foundation. Tom earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications degree from the University of Tennessee.
