Kristy has over 25 years of diverse experience in the healthcare industry including regulatory compliance, revenue cycle management, revenue integrity, health system and physician practice operations, and education of adult learners. She is a subject matter expert in ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT-4, Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI), physician evaluation and management (E/M), and HCC risk adjustment.
Kristy is a national speaker on physician practice and healthcare system coding and documentation-related topics and the author of The Journal of AHIMA: Seven Essential Steps for Successful Second Level Review Programs in Coding and CDI. She is a national educator for ICD-10-CM/PCS, clinical documentation improvement, revenue cycle, and compliance. Kristy is active in the American Health Information Management Association, Florida, where she has served on the Education Committee; the American Academy of Professional Coders, Florida; and Healthcare Financial Management Association, Florida. She earned an associate degree in health information technology from Darton College.
