PYA Named by USA TODAY as One of America’s Most Recommended Tax and Accounting Firms

PYA has again been named by USA TODAY as one of America’s Most Recommended Tax Firms. The firm’s tax services were also recognized in the inaugural report last year.
The 2025 list is based on a national survey of tax professionals and their clients conducted by Statista, an independent market research institute. The survey assessed peer reputation by requesting up to 10 recommendations in the event a tax firm was unable to take on a client. It also gauged market perceptions by asking clients to name up to 10 tax firms they would endorse based on their experiences over the last three years. To be included, companies needed a minimum number of recommendations.

PYA has been recognized by a number of national, industry-leading groups for its ability to foresee opportunities and solve complex problems. In 2024, the firm was named an INSIDE Public Accounting Top 100 Firm for the ninth year and a Top 100 Firm by Accounting Today for the eighth year. Additionally, Modern Healthcare has ranked PYA among the Top 20 healthcare consulting firms in the U.S. for 18 years.
The rankings are based on the number of recommendations gathered from professionals and clients across the country. To compile the data, Statista “conducted broad surveys of tax and accounting professionals and their clients. Peers were asked for up to 10 tax or accounting firms they would recommend if their company couldn’t take on a client. Clients were asked for up to 10 tax or accounting firms based on their professional experience over the past three years,” according to the USA TODAY announcement.
PYA Ranks as a U.S. Leader in Consulting, Repeats in Top 100 in Nation

PYA is honored to be recognized in several categories in the Accounting Today 2024 Top 100 Firms report. The firm, which serves clients in all 50 states and has offices in Atlanta, Charlotte, Kansas City, Knoxville, Nashville, and Tampa, is named the leader in consulting among U.S. firms under $100 million, up from the No. 2 spot in 2023. Also, PYA ranks among the Top 100 accounting firms across the nation, the eighth year for this designation, and PYA is recognized as one of the Top 10 largest firms in the Southeast and the second largest headquartered in Tennessee.
The annual rankings are based on total revenues, percentage of revenue increase, number of employees, and other metrics collected through a survey process of accounting firms.

According to the Accounting Today report, the Top 100 firms showed substantial revenue growth across the board in 2023, but they face a continuing struggle to attract and retain top talent due to the dwindling pipeline of new graduates. The service line with the highest growth rate in 2023 is client advisory services, in which firms are seeing the promise of more growth and the ability to better serve clients.
PYA Principal Selected to Leadership Tampa
