PYA Principal Contributes to Aging and Disability Business Institute’s CBO Network Guide

PYA Principal Martie Ross lent her expertise to a new resource guide from the Aging and Disability Business Institute (Institute). The guide, “Building a CBO Network for Health Care Contracting: Choosing the Right Model,” provides insight into building a network, including the three most common operational models. It also examines community-based organizations (CBOs) and their impact on social determinants of health (SDOH).

According to the Institute, the number of CBO networks with one or more healthcare contracts has doubled since 2017. This guide provides an outline for these networks and explains how they can use their collective skills to build solutions for people-centered care options.

Guide Excerpt:

“There is no right or wrong model. The particular needs and strengths of the [Community Integrated Health Networks]-participating CBOs and other support organizations involved, along with the characteristics, diversity and equity needs of the communities served, as well as the potential needs and desires of prospective payers, should be carefully considered when choosing a model for your [Network Lead Entities].”
