Collins, Brumbelow Selected for National Industry Boards

PYA is pleased to announce two of its principals are serving on national industry boards. Tina Collins, Principal, was elected to the board of directors of the National Association of Enrolled Agents, and Mark Brumbelow, Managing Principal of Tax, was appointed by the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants as a member of its Corporations & Shareholders Taxation Technical Resource Panel.

Collins has been working with individual clients in the areas of tax planning and income tax return compliance for more than two decades. As an enrolled agent and dedicated tax professional, she has been part of the team at PYA since 2017 and serves as Tax Principal and leader of the Individual Tax and Estate Planning service line.

The NAEA is the “nation’s leading community for tax practitioners—from aspiring enrolled agents to experts with decades of experience,” according to its website. The organization focuses on research, leadership development, career guidance, and diversity in the tax profession. Members of the NAEA board of directors are elected by peers. The group of 15 tax leaders from across the nation represent nearly 15,000 enrolled agents, tax experts who have earned the highest level of authorization to represent taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service.

Brumbelow has more than two decades of experience assisting middle-market, private equity-backed, and public companies located across North America. He has supported clients on federal and multi-state tax compliance and consulting engagements, transaction analysis and facilitation, and domestic tax reporting of both inbound and outbound international transactions. Brumbelow also leads the PYA Income Tax Accounting function.

The AICPA’s Corporations & Shareholders Taxation Technical Resource Panel consists of 11 tax professionals from across the U.S. with substantial experience in corporate taxation. The panel focuses on tax policy and advocacy by monitoring legislative and regulatory developments in C corporation taxation and recommending modifications to clarify existing laws and regulations for corporations and their shareholders. It collaborates with the IRS, U.S. Office of the Treasury, U.S. Congress, and other official organizations.

Collins and Brumbelow’s service represents the firm’s foundational value of exceptional service to clients and the tax and accounting industry. Because of their exemplary professionalism, PYA is distinguished by having two colleagues serving in national industry roles at the same time.
